Building and process automation are linked with production automation through operating conditions, media supply, exhaust air and releases.

Relevant interfaces are the plant's demand for extraction or ventilation, operating and standby states of the building services, releases after sufficient air exchange as well as fault and warning messages. Which communication runs via KNX, BACnet, OPC UA or direct PLC signals is determined for each application.

In a factory hall, the extraction of a production plant is connected to the building services.

A plant section is only released once the building automation confirms sufficient air exchange. For this, the software exchanges requests, standby states and messages between the plant PLC, the building automation and the control system.
