Working at
IQstruct Engineering

We are a small team and work on the plants, software and data of our customers. Whoever starts with us takes on their own topic early and works along from the first project.

We are nine people. That has consequences for everyday work: there is no department that takes a subject over when it becomes uncomfortable, and no level between you and the decision. Whoever looks after a plant talks to the customer, writes the control program and stands beside it during commissioning.

The work is spread over five areas: automation and virtual commissioning, industrial IoT, software, artificial intelligence, and IT and OT security. The areas touch in almost every project. Whoever comes from control engineering works on data models sooner or later; whoever comes from software development stands at a plant at some point.

Part of the work takes place at the customer, in Baesweiler and across Germany, occasionally elsewhere in Europe. How much that is depends on the project and is agreed beforehand. The rest runs in the office or from home.

How we work

What you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.

You get a subject of your own as soon as you can carry it, and time to find your way into it. For the first weeks a person from the team stands at your side who does the same work. Questions cost nothing here; a plant programmed wrongly out of uncertainty costs a great deal.

We expect you to bring a task to an end and to say when something does not work out. A date that cannot be held belongs on the table early. A mistake that shows up is named and put right.

Tools and training we provide. Which course makes sense is decided by the project and by what takes you further. Whoever aims at a certification, in control engineering or in IT security for instance, discusses it with the head of the area.

For students and apprentices there are final theses and internships. They run on real questions from running projects.
