Use machine data without connecting
every application separately

Aurora brings industrial data sources together and provides information for your target systems.

Direct point-to-point connections between machines and applications become harder to maintain with every new data source. Different interfaces spread the integration work across many places.

IQstruct Engineering uses Aurora as the broker between production data, energy meters and downstream applications. What is stored and visualised locally and which information goes to databases or third-party systems is defined together. Installation, documentation and ongoing support can be commissioned together.

Start now at no cost

In a free first conversation we clarify which sources are to be connected, which target systems expect the data and at what resolution it is needed.

Scope of services

Connect sources in one place

PLCs and measuring devices deliver the agreed production and energy data.

Enable local use

Local data storage and visualisation are available for smaller applications.

Supply target systems

Customer-specific endpoints, databases, MES and ERP receive the information they need.

One brokering layer for all data sources

IQstruct Engineering uses Aurora as the broker between production data, energy meters and downstream applications.

Each new data source is connected once and is then available to all applications. What is stored and visualised locally and which information goes to databases or third-party systems is defined together.

Aurora processes and aggregates the data streams without programming, stores them as time series, analyses, raises alarms and processes asset administration shells. The web interface makes data and administration functions accessible.

Middleware

New data sources extend the system in one place

Every application obtains its data from the same brokering layer; new machines are connected once.

    1

    Record existing edge devices

Existing devices and data paths are checked in an inventory overview.

  2. Two people set up an OPC UA adapter with connection settings and node selection on a monitorAi

    2

    Configure Aurora

Adapters and data flow are set up in Aurora without programming.

  3. Two people fit a rack server into a 19-inch rack in a small server roomAi

    3

    Install the server system

The hardware is installed and connected in the server rack.

  4. Three people in a meeting room discuss a dashboard with power curves, energy balance and an asset tableAi

    Check incoming energy data

Current values, timestamps and trends arrive in the dashboard and are checked.

What belongs to the installed system

Operating documentation

It describes the operation, administration and running of the middleware.

Overview of network and measuring points

It documents which source is connected and how.

Support

Updates, monitoring and support can be commissioned together with the installation.

Sources, targets and our own middleware

Aurora connects controllers, machines and measuring devices with the systems that use their data.

The specific transformation of the data is defined in the project.

Project experience

Energy data monitoring at a brick works

Looking at energy and production together at a backing brick works.

IQstruct Engineering has delivered energy data monitoring for a backing brick works. The solution brings together values from transformer stations, the photovoltaic system and the combined heat and power plant with production data. Consumption can therefore be viewed in relation to the batches produced. Meter trends are available individually, aggregated and historically. The example shows why a single meter reading does not yet provide a reliable statement about the energy demand of a production step.

Frequently asked questions

We are glad to answer your detailed questions in a personal conversation.

How long are data stored locally?

The local database is designed for ongoing use. Retention and failure behaviour are agreed in the project.

How are different data formats brought together?

Aurora brings the data sources together and hands them over to the intended third-party systems. The specific transformation is defined in the project.

Can IQstruct Engineering support the middleware permanently?

Yes. We take on updates, monitoring and support locally or remotely within the agreed scope.
