AiOff-Highway-Twins-2
Off-Highway-Twins-2 joins machine and geodata in digital twins of infrastructure objects and their surroundings, for survey, planning, construction, operation and maintenance. We provide the cloud platform of the project.
What it is about
Work in the life cycle of an infrastructure object needs a reliable data basis. Agricultural, forestry and construction machines collect large amounts of data with sensors and cameras, which today serve almost only the operation of the machine itself. The project opens this data up for digital twins of infrastructure objects: geodata from the cloud is joined with sensor and telemetry data of the machines, together with modelling, sensor data fusion and artificial intelligence.
Our contribution
We provide the OHT cloud platform. It maps digital twins of the machines, stores the related data, enriches it with external data and provides it to third party systems. For this we deployed edge technology on excavators that transfers data streams from LiDAR sensors, 3D cameras and virtual sensors to the cloud via MQTT. There, our own services process the pre-aggregated data and pass it to the platform of a project partner.
What comes out of it
From the operation of the cloud infrastructure we derive the parameters for setting up a scalable solution for end users. The data path from the machine through the cloud into a partner system matches what we implement in projects for data acquisition and cloud integration.
