An AI supported assistance system is to support the skills of production engineering staff and make the commissioning of production plants more sustainable.
What it is about
Commissioning a machine binds time, travel and energy. Virtual commissioning couples real controllers with digital twins and finds faults earlier; the project site of Karlsruhe University of Education names up to 70 percent of the faults that surface before physical commissioning when this is combined with capability based control. From that the project develops a learning assistance system that gives feedback during work and carries vocational education for sustainable development into training.
Our contribution
We bring in the view from plant projects and from virtual commissioning. The assistance system is to support staff in programming control software, point to energy and resource efficient programming, detect optimisation potential in plants and processes and help with modelling for virtual commissioning. A qualified person checks every result before it is used.
